Today was a tough day. With a workshop of my own, one I had to attend, plus reviews and other things, I thought I would run out of all out creative energy by the time I got to writing.
I took a break and reached my laptop only by the end of the day and in a room that did not have internet. Which turned out to be a boon. No other creative writing sites, my MA notes or writing workshops, just me and my plot.
I tried charting what I had in the three act structure onto the Hero's journey. I didn't expect it to, but it fit. As it turns out, there is a lot of work to be done in Act 2, the major chunk of the novel, however I think I have a fair idea of how the book will turn out. Not how I expected but maybe if I increase dramatic tension and explore this... it could end up into something...
I just have to remember to approach the book with a lightness and fun energy... that's when I feel the most creative.
