Writing Challenge Day 27: Always a student

I began the day, continuing off from where my creative writing class stopped. And it worked. We have to craft a scene and all the intense exercises we did to know a function of a scene, where the character is going and so on... it did help.

Somehow there is a layer of self-doubt that goes away when you have to do a writing assignment for workshop. I'm not sure why this, maybe even the writing is better, or at least, you mentally exercise your mind to get to where it needs to be.

It's like having a personal trainer for 6 months, then continuing with the workouts on your own after that and getting results. I feel it might not be a bad investment to have a long term plan for at least the remainder of the year, till I get the hang of the nitty gritties. Yes I know this stuff in theory and I can do online free workshops, which may still be helpful, but writing for the sake of writing vs. writing to submit for immediate feedback - there is a difference.

I can get this same sense of the craft when I am teaching people on my own, but it's not the same. Here's to more creative writing - teaching and learning.
